The most common form of third-party audits is one that is conducted to assess the degree of conformity to International Standards (ISO). These audits are also known as ‘Certification Audits’ because once the conformity is confirmed the Certification Body that conducted the audit then issues the relevant Certificate

All audit reports are submitted by the auditors to the head offices where the independent certification authority carries out their final review and evaluation.

ISO Audits & Certifications

ISO audits are important for a few reasons; an audit can tell you whether you are meeting requirements for ISO compliance and can expose the weak spots in your organization’s operations, so that you can develop the strongest risk management strategy possible.

There are four types of ISO audits: internal, external, certification, and surveillance. Your choice of audit type will alter depending on your compliance and certification goals, your scope, scale, and budget.
